웨스트 코스트 힙합계의 빅스타로 떠오른 LA 슈퍼 힙합그룹 Black Hippy 출신의 랩퍼 Kendrick Lamar의 두번째 정규 앨범 Good Kid M.A.A.D City [2LP]!!!

Tupac Shakur과 Dr. Dre를 우상으로 삼아 음악을 시작한 그는 그룹 Black Hippy의 맴버로 활동하며 캘리포니아 힙합 뮤지션 Jay Rock, Schoolboy Q and Ab-Soul등과 교류, 2003년부터 현재까지 6장의 믹스테입은 물론이고 다양한 콜라브레이션 피처링 활동을 해왔다.

2011년 독립앨범 [Section.80]이후 두번째로 발표된 본 앨범은 빌보드 앨범차트 2위, R&B/HipHop 앨범차트 정상을 차지했던 화제작으로 자신의 우상인 Dr. Dre를 비롯해 The Neptunes, Hit-Boy, DJ Khalil, Just Blaze등과 공동작업해 완성했다.

2LP반에는 빌보드 싱글차트 25위에 오른 'Swimming Pools (Drank)'를 비롯해 옛동료 Jay Rock이 피처링한 'Money Trees', 메이저 빅스타 Drake가 피처링한 'Poetic Justice', Dr. Dre가 직접 피처링에 나선 'Compton', 역시 Dr. Dre 피처링한 싱글 'The Recipe', 관록의 싱어 Mary J. Blige의 감각이 함께한 'Now Or Never'등 2012년 공개했던 2CD 디럭스 버전 트랙과 동일하게 수록!
